How to choose the right e-Book

• Go to the left-hand side tool bar, where you will find four sections:

o    All our e-Books contain all the e-Books available, organized in alphabetical order. There are two kinds of e-Books: those for students, which contain varied activities according to the level, and those for teachers, which contain students’ worksheets, teacher’s notes and table of contents.

 
     o    Our Simply British section includes all those e-Books that are 

         based on British films.

 
     o   Our abridged e-Books have been designed for teachers who have 

        to stick to very lengthy syllabuses and cannot afford to work on 

        complete films.

 
     o   Our packs have been created for teachers who teach different levels 

        and would like to use the same film in the different classes, or for 

        teachers who would like to use different films worked on at the same 

        level. In all cases the packs carry a special discount.

 
     o  Our pronunciation e-Books offer work on different aspects of 

        pronunciation, the focus changing depending on the level.

 
• Once you have decided on the section, choose among the films which are available.

 o    Click on the chosen title to find the table of contents which includes the topics of the film, the linguistic aspects developed, as well as the grammar and lexical items practised in that particular film.

o     Another important consideration is how the film has been rated. Note that the rating that appears next to the films is the one suggested by the MPA (Motion Picture Association). However, this may vary from country to country.

Practical considerations

To be able to buy our e-Books you first have to register. The steps to follow are simple:

Click www.english-behind-the-scenes.com and click on the button ‘Register’. You will only have to choose a username and password, and enter your e-mail address.

Minimise the site and check your inbox as a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you immediately.

Go back to the site and enter the details you see in that e-mail, i.e. your username and password. Once you enter this password, you can go to 'Your details' (which will appear on the bottom left-hand side on the tool bar) if you should wish to change it.

Once your registration has been completed you should select the e-Books that best suit the needs of the class you have in mind. For this purpose you should click on the title in order to have a look at the linguistic skills developed as well as the lexical items, topics and grammatical structures the e-Book you have chosen introduce and/or help practise.

Once you have added the selected item/s to your Shopping Cart, you have to press the 'checkout' button, which will immediately take you to a form which you will have to complete with your billing information.

There are two forms of payment available at the moment:

• A Secure Payment Gateway, which offers a maximum security system approved by the international credit card companies Visa, Mastercard and Diners. This system enables customers to make a purchase simply by inserting their credit card details. Once the purchase has been completed, EBTS will be sending an e-mail with an ID which will enable customers to download the e-Book(s) purchased.

• PayPal, with 71 million members worldwide, offers a maximum security system which enables customers to buy products online through a bank account or credit card. Once the transaction has been completed, customers get a confirmation e-mail from PayPal and an e-mail from EBTS with an ID which will enable customers to download the e-Book(s) purchased.

When buying please note the following:

• Do not leave any blank spaces when you enter your credit card number or expiration date.

• The security code required is a 3-digit number on the back of your credit card (in some credit cards there is a 4-digit number previous to this, which you should ignore)

We would also like to highlight here that the credit card details you enter when you make a purchase are NOT stored in our systems. 

Note that our e-Books are in PDF format, so you need to have Adobe Reader installed in your computer. This is a simple programme which can be downloaded for free from our website.
